Old Trafford football stadium (given the nickname The Theatre of Dreams by Bobby Charlton) is the home of Manchester United F.C., one of the most famous football clubs in the world. Located in the borough of Trafford in Greater Manchester, it has been United's home since 1910. The stadium was bombed in 1941, forcing the club to temporarily share Manchester City's home ground, Maine Road, until the rebuilding of Old Trafford was completed in 1949.
 

Arsenal football Club

Arsenal Football Club (also known as Arsenal, The Arsenal or The Gunners) is a football club from north London, and one of the most successful clubs in English football. Founded in 1886, the team currently plays at Arsenal Stadium, Highbury, but will move in 2006 to the new Emirates Stadium nearby.

Limitations in Highbury's capacity (38,500) have prevented the club from maximising the revenue their impressive domestic form could have brought in in recent seasons. Although the club remains highly profitable, in order to close the gap with rivals such as Manchester United, Arsenal are currently in the process of building the Emirates Stadium, a new 60,000 seater stadium at Ashburton Grove, about 500m southwest, towards Holloway Road

 

Ipswich Town Football Club

The stand known to generations of supporters as 'Churchmans' was totally rebuilt in 2000 and now consists of a two-tier stand providing an additional 4,000 seats. Additionally, incorporated within the new 'Greene King Stand' are 'The Legends Bar' capable of accommodating 600 supporters on match days and the 'Galleria' restaurant which can provide 180 covers and is now regarded as a major venue in Ipswich  on non-match days.After the demolition of the North Stand which, strangely,did not stand square to the pitch. For most of the season this end of the ground was devoid of fans and there have been assertions that the lack of the 'North Stand Roar' was partially responsible for our relegation from the Premiership at the end of that season. With another 4,000 seats added as a result of this development, Ipswich could boast an all-seater stadium of 30,300. The combined cost of these two developments was in the region of £22m. With these facilities, together with new floodlighting and an on-site superstore, the infrastructure at Ipswich Town Football Club is one to be proud of.

The Family Stand was moved from the South Stand in season 1993/94 when the work was completed. The East Stand holds a shopping mall and with its shops and cafe is purpose built for the families. Leeds United are proud that they are winning more families back to Elland Road

The Stadium has been host to live rock concerts with music fans flocking to Elland Road to see the band Queen in 1982 and U2 five years later

Liverpool Football Club

 Fortress Anfield" gained a reputation as one of the most difficult grounds for visiting teams. Manager Bill Shankly, who engineered the club's dominance of English football in the 1970s and 80s,  had a sign proclaiming "This Is Anfield" mounted on the wall above the exit from the players tunnel, to intimidate the opposition.  Many of the Liverpool players reach up and touch the sign as they  pass underneath it for good luck.

Chelsea Football Club was formed in 1905 by the owners of the Stamford Bridge Athletic Ground, Gus and John Mears. The Mears brothers had purchased the lease to the sight in 1904 After Cladio Ranieri was replaced by Jose Mourinho at the start of the 2004-2005 season, Chelsea won their first trophies since 2000. These were the League Cup, defeating Liverpool 3-2 in the Final at Cardiff, and The Premiership Title, the first time they had been crowned Champions of England since 1955. Fittingly, the honour came in the Club's Centenary season.

Charlton were formed in June 1905 - as a boys club in an area of Charlton which is no longer residential - near where the London Flood Barrier is now. During their formative years playing at the Valley there was a lack of facilities at the ground. They often used to use a local fishmonger/fish and chip shop as a place to get changed for games. This is where Charlton's famous nickname is derived from "addick" as a corruption of Haddock the main ware of this particular shop. Others claim the fishmonger nailed a haddock to a board and made a noise during games by slapping the two together this seems some what far fetched.The Valley is one of the most remarkable in the history of the game. In 1919 Charlton were a relatively successful London football team in search of a new stadium. The venue for the new ground was a chalk pit in the centre of Charlton VillageThe Valley is the home to Charlton Athletic FC. The Valley has a crowd capacity of more than 27,000 thanks to a new 9,000 seater North Stand- completed in 2002.

West Ham United Football Club

The club was founded in 1895 as the works side of the Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Co. Ltd by the company chairman Arnold Hills, playing in the London League. They joined the Southern League Second Division in 1899. When the club became a limited company in 1900 the club name was changed to West Ham United. West Ham's club colours are claret and blue.

As with all Premiership grounds, The Boleyn Ground is an all-seater stadium. Since the re-development of the West Stand or to give it it's official name the Dr. Martens Stand (main stand on Green Street), it looks incredible from the outside, and makes for a very attractive stadium. Capacity has reached the dizzy heights of 35,000.
